Sitting on the balcony, overlooking the concrete courtyard
Surrounded by the white, wooden bars of my personal prison
So much like my internal walls that guard my heart
The ones I build up to take the barrage of change
My mind races with thoughts of everything and nothing
The ones that are pleasant and the ones that bind
The temptations are prevalent, they swirl and twist
They overcome and constantly ride on other thoughts
They choke the life of ideas and creativity
Poisoning my mind with death and depression

Poem: If Only You Knew
In the shadows of your mind
Hiding the secrets they'll never find
They think you're so happy
It's sad how they can't see
The truth about you
Of what you think and do
But have you really tried to show

The tears, the shame
Things you can't get through on your own
But you feel so alone
If only you could see
The person I know you to be
If only I could show you the bright hue

So here I am, reaching out
Grab my hand and please don't doubt
I can help you to get through
I promise I'll stick with you, tried and true
I promise not to let you

Cracked heels and calloused toes amidst glass and foil
Tarp enclosure lived in by five and a pair

The passion and joy that is ached for
Power flowing freely after spiritual drought
The desire of th
